“In a land of vast, mall-like interiors, Border Grill boasts a rare commodity: outdoor dining. The setting, overlooking Mandalay Bay’s pool, could be a cabana somewhere in
Ixtapa...” Sunset
“...Border Grill offers the most accessible and probably least expensive upscale dining experience [in Las Vegas].” Variety
“One of the best catches
at Mandalay Bay is Border Grill... We sat outside on a slightly breezy evening. The tiki torches that line Mandalay Bay’s river area danced for us, while the heavy vegetation surrounding us made it easy to imagine
we were someplace else. Dining upstairs near a window or a balcony is also a treat, because you get such a fine view of Mandalay Bay’s entire resort area....” City Life
Border Grill is a Las Vegas destination for locals and visitors alike in search of the bold foods and flavors of Mexico presented by chef-owners Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger. Opened in 1999, the spicy duo
landed the perfect site for their acclaimed Mexican eatery: “...tucked into a veranda away from the casino at Mandalay Bay,” in the words of Gourmet magazine, at the edge of the 11-acre beach and water park, the
restaurant is the epitome of the “waterfront cafe you never managed to find in Mazatlan.”
Like the Santa Monica “original” and the Los Angeles sister restaurant, Ciudad, Border Grill Las Vegas was
designed by architect Josh Schweitzer and features the colorful murals of artists Su Huntley and Donna Muir. (And like sisters, the restaurants are everything alike and nothing alike: Santa Monica is the brunette,
Ciudad is the blonde, and Vegas is definitely the redhead!)

. One of Your favorite attractions will surely be the Shark Reef, right next door to the restaurant, featuring twenty-seven eight-foot sharks (or is it eight twenty-seven foot sharks?), and a slew of other
exotic, predatory marine life. Stop by for fish tacos after and have the last word in the food chain... Check out what else is happening in Vegas for your next visit!
